Quaker Oats recall expanded, granola bar added: See the updated recall list

Quaker has expanded its recall to include an additional item, adding to an already-long list of recalled foods from the PepsiCo-owned company in recent weeks due to being potentially contaminated with salmonella.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration posted the expanded recall notice to include an additional granola bar Wednesday. The Quaker Chewy Dipps Llama Rama 6-count products, with a best before date of Feb. 10 or 11, has been added the the U.S. Recalled Products list. The product was discontinued in September 2023.
The first Quaker recall, issued Dec. 15, largely included granola bars and granola cereals. The second, Jan. 11 recall expanded the list to include additional products, including snack mixes and cereal products.
Salmonella are bacteria that make people sick, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and people can get the infection from a variety of sources, including eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water. Most people with the salmonella infection have symptoms including diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps.
Quaker Oats Co. product recall: Cap'n Crunch cereals, Gatorade bars
Several of the products Quaker Oats has added to the recall list include Gamesa Marias Cereal, Cap’n Crunch Sea Berry Crunch Cereal, Cap’n Crunch Instant Oatmeal, Cap'n Crunch Treats Peanut Butter Crunch Cereal Bars, Gatorade Protein Bar Peanut Butter Chocolate (sold individually and in boxes with six or 12 bars), and Quaker Simply Granola Oats, Honey & Almonds Cereal.
Also recalled were several variety packs and snack boxes with different bars, as well as other snacks including Quaker Oats Rice Crisps and Frito-Lay potato chips. Most of products have best before dates in the year 2024.

According to Quaker Oats Co., the recall does not include the following products:
- Quaker Oats
- Quaker Instant Oats
- Quaker Grits
- Quaker Oat Bran
- Quaker Oat Flour
- Quaker Rice Snacks
